The Belen floating district is situated in the city of Iquitos within the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. Unfortunately, it lacks essential services such as sewage and clean water. Our efforts have focused on reconsidering a native architectural style. The indigenous design of the floating houses cleverly adapts to its surroundings. Over the past decade, the government has attempted to relocate the population along the Itaya River. In response, we have reimagined the floating house typology to explore possibilities that allow these residents to remain in their homes.
